Swoon expedition bag

I recently started a painting class, and needed a large bag for all my supplies, that would fit in my bicycle basket. I chose the Swoon expedition because of the large pockets, and many of them 🙂 See, even an inner pocket!

Tha pattern was easy to print and cut, but oh my, a LOT of pattern pieces here! All pieces are interfaced as well, so double the pieces. It took a long time to cut and fuse the interfacing, but the sewing was surprisingly easy. The instructions are very clear with drawings as well.

The only thing I will change in future versions is that some of this inside pocket parts are marked as outer fabric on the pattern piece. As I used a heavy fabric for the outside bag, I would have preferred to have all pocket pieces in the more lightweight cotton I used for the lining. But this has no effect on this bag 🙂

I am really pleased with this, I used some scraps of pretty fabrics I have been keeping for a project like this.
