Grey Halla slim dolman

This is a pattern that surprised me! I REALLY love this!

I am still in the only-sewing-VERY-simple-stuff after my pants fitting disaster. I have tried Dolmans before but not with any luck, and ended up giving up on them. But yesterday I saw a picture of this, and downloaded the pattern – the slip silhouette is what I have been looking for. Today I made it, in a very nice lightweight viscose/ rayon jersey. I LOVE viscose and always prefer that, it is always so nice to the touch, I love to wear it. This dolman took me about an hour to make, and this included cutting the fabric.  The pattern it self is very nice to print (layers yay!) and easy to assemble once I figured out that the little drawing of the dolman indicated what sheet I was holding.

I made a size 6/8 on top, grading to 10/12 at the hips, as per my measurements, and I find the fit spot on. The only adjustments I made was folding down the shoulder a bit at the neckline, as my shoulders barely slope at all, so I always do this to shirt/ jacket patterns and adding 3 cm/ 1″ to the sleeve length; I need to add a bit more for the next one.

The fit is perfect, the drape of the fabric is perfect. Will definitely make more 🙂
